ADRIAN, Mich. — The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its men's hockey 3 Stars of the Week for games played November 1-3.
Landry Schmuck, F, Fr., Aurora
Schmuck began the season with a 4-point weekend (3 goals, 1 assist) to help the Spartans win games over UW-Stevens Point and Augsburg. The rookie began the season by assisting on the opening goal of Aurora's season. He then scored his first career goal at 9:51 in the 2nd period. Against Augsburg he lit the lamp twice, including the game-winner in overtime. The Huntsville, Ala., native had the equalizer at 13:24 in the 3rd period before sending his team into celebration at 0:37 into overtime.
Blake Ulve, F, Fr., St. Norbert
Ulve had the most points of any NCHA player this weekend with 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists). In a rematch of teams from the first round of the NCAA Tournament last season, the Green Knights came out in from behind a 4-point game by the rookie. He scored his first career goal at 6:47 in the 1st period. Ulve then had three assists over a 17-minute span later in the game. During a victory over Bethel he assists on the game-winning, power-play goal later in the 1st period.
Andreai Proctor-Ramirez, GK, So., Marian
Proctor-Ramirez helped the Sabres win a pair of games over the weekend with stellar play between the pipes. He 56 saves, a 0.50 goals-against-average and a .982 save percentage. Proctor-Ramirez made 29 saves (9-9-10-1) and allowed a single goal against Bethel during a victory. To close out the weekend, the Paradise Hill, Sask., native earned his second career shutout after making 27 saves (11-9-7) against St. Olaf.
