Women's Hockey 3 Stars of the Week: Kohl, Plachetka, Poppleton

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its women's hockey 3 Stars of the Week for games played October 31-November 1.

Jasmine Kohl, F, Jr., Lake Forest
Kohl recorded 3 points (2G, 1A) to power the Foresters to a two-game sweep over UW-Superior. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native opened the scoring and netted the game-winning goal on the power-play during Friday's 5-0 victory, adding a second power-play goal later in the contest. On Saturday, she picked up an assist on the game-sealing goal, helping Lake Forest secure the 2-0 shutout win.

Tanith Plachetka, GK, Fr., St. Norbert
Plachetka backstopped the Green Knights to a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory against No. 5 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday. The Greenville, Wis., native was lights out, stopping 33 of 34 shots faced during the 64-plus minutes of action in overtime, finishing the game with a sterling .971 save percentage.

Willow Poppleton, D, Sr., Lake Forest
Poppleton anchored the defense and contributed significantly on offense, recording 3 goals as Lake Forest swept UW-Superior. The Pickering, Ontario native scored a power-play goal in Friday's 5-0 shutout win. She then scored both goals in Saturday's 2-0 series-clinching victory, including the first-period game-winning tally, to help the Foresters post back-to-back shutouts over the weekend.
