ADRIAN, Mich. — The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its men's hockey 3 Stars of the Week for games played December 5-6.
Cooper Brown, F, Fr., Concordia Wisconsin
?Brown, a freshman forward from Airdrie, Alberta was an offensive catalyst, leading Concordia Wisconsin to a convincing sweep over Dubuque and propelling the Falcons up the NCHA standings. Brown racked up four points (2G, 2A) over the two contests. On Friday, he put up a huge three-point night with two goals, including a power-play marker, and an assist in the 8-4 victory. He followed that performance with a key assist in Saturday’s 4-2 win, showcasing the offensive depth of the Falcons.
Logan Dombrowsky, F, Jr., St. Norbert
Dombrowsky, a junior forward from Stevens Point, Wis., was the definition of clutch for the Green Knights as they battled Trine to an overtime win and a shootout victory on the road. Dombrowsky recorded three points (2G, 1A) for the weekend, but his timely scoring proved the difference. In Friday’s 4-3 overtime victory, Dombrowsky scored the sudden-death, game-winning goal just 25 seconds into the extra frame to seal the two points for the Green Knights. He followed that up on Saturday by scoring the game-tying goal in the 3rd period before netting the deciding shootout marker. His efforts ensured the Green Knights collected three of a possible four conference points.
Cameron Hrdlicka, GK, So., Concordia Wisconsin
Hrdlicka, a sophomore goaltender from Calgary, Alberta backstopped the Falcons to a crucial sweep over Dubuque. Hrdlicka secured both victories, posting 51 total saves over 120 minutes of action. On Friday night, he turned aside 30 shots to earn the 8-4 win. He was even sharper on Saturday, stopping 21-of-23 shots faced for a .913 save percentage in the tight 4-2 victory. His consistently strong performance between the pipes was essential in moving Concordia Wisconsin to a 4-4-0 record in conference play.
