Aurora, St. Norbert announced in NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament bracket

Spartans hosts Saint John's; Green Knights host New England

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced the field for its Division III Men's Hockey Tournament, which features St. Norbert hosting New England and Aurora hosting Saint John's.

St. Norbert and New England will square off on Saturday, March 14 at 7 pm at Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere, Wis. The Green Knights received an automatic qualifying bid after winning the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Harris Cup Championship on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over rival Aurora. The Green Knights won their 18th conference tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 23rd time.  St. Norbert is ranked No. 2 in the latest USCHO national poll.

New England received an at-large bid into the tournament after losing the Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament title game, 2-1, to Endicott. The Nor'easters are in the postseason for the sixth time in program history. They finished No. 9 in the NPI ranking and was fourth out of four ar-large teams to qualify. They enter with a 21-6-0 record and are ranked tied for No. 7 in the this week's USCHO poll. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Aurora and Saint John's will face off on Saturday, March 14 at 1 pm at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Ill. The Spartans received an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament after falling the NCHA Harris Cup Championship game to league foe St. Norbert by a 3-1 score. They are 23-5-1 overall and are making their second appearance into the national tournament.

Saint John's received an automatic bid after winning the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) tournament title over Gustavus Adolphus with a 4-3 overtime decision. The Johnnies have an overall record of 17-6-4 and have won nine of their last 10 games. They are No. 16 in the NPI ranking. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
