Bloomingburg, Phillips named finalist for AHCA Men's Coach of the Year

Aurora and Adrian leaders guided their programs to 20-plus wins this season

GLOUCESTER, Mass. — Aurora's Jason Bloomingburg and Adrian's Adam Phillips have been named finalists for the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA College Division Men’s Coach of the Year Award, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced.

Both coaches are among 13 finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Award, presented annually to the top NCAA Division II-III men’s ice hockey coach. The winner will be announced later this week in Utica, New York.

Finalists are selected based on conference Coach of the Year honors and postseason success, including participation in the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Championship.

Bloomingburg earned national recognition after guiding Aurora to a standout 2025-26 campaign that included Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Coach of the Year honors and a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four. His leadership has continued to elevate the Spartans into a nationally competitive program, highlighted by sustained success in conference play and increasing national visibility.

Phillips, meanwhile, was also recognized as NCHA Coach of the Year after leading Adrian to another strong season within one of NCAA Division III’s most competitive conferences. Under his direction, the Bulldogs had a 20-win season and the league's player of the year.

The CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year awards are voted on by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and recognize excellence in coaching performance, team success, and contributions to the sport.
