GLOUCESTER, Mass. — Seven student-athletes from the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) have been named to the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA NCAA Division II-III Men’s All-American Teams, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced. Representing the NCHA are Adrian's David Clarke and Ian Amsbaugh, Aurora’s Simon Diaz and Hassan Akl, Dubuque's Nikita Borodaenko and St. Norbert's Dayton Deics and Logan Dombrowsky.
The AHCA All-American teams recognize the top 30 players in NCAA Division II-III men’s hockey, as selected by head coaches from across the nation.
Adrian placed two players on the First Team West, led by sophomore defenseman David Clarke and junior forward Ian Amsbaugh. Clarke delivered an outstanding season on the blue line, finishing with 24 points in 28 games, ranking among the top defensemen in the NCHA in scoring. Amsbaugh, a junior forward, was one of the most dynamic offensive players in the conference, recording 37 points in 28 games to lead the NCHA in scoring. Both Clarke and Amsbaugh earn their first career AHCA All-America honors.
Aurora saw two players named Second Team West selections in sophomore defenseman Simon Diaz and senior forward Hassan Akl. Diaz posted 25 points on five goals and 20 assists, ranking among the nation’s top scoring defensemen while playing a key role in Aurora’s historic season. Akl, a senior forward, totaled 37 points on 13 goals and 24 assists, leading one of the highest-scoring offenses in Division III. Akl’s selection marks his second career All-America honor after earning Second Team recognition in 2025, while Diaz earns the distinction for the first time.
Dubuque senior forward Nikita Borodaenko was also named a Second Team West All-American, becoming the Spartans’ representative on this year’s national list. Borodaenko earned the honor following a season in which he accumulated 35 points, 17 goals and 18 assists. His selection marks the first AHCA All-America recognition of his career.
St. Norbert placed two student-athletes on the Second Team West in senior defenseman Dayton Deics and junior forward Logan Dombrowsky. Deics, a veteran presence on the blue line, earned All-America honors for the third time in his career, previously being named a Second Team selection in 2024 and a Second Team honoree again in 2025. Dombrowsky, a junior forward, finished with 24 points in 31 games, emerging as one of the Green Knights’ top offensive contributors during the 2025-26 campaign. Dombrowsky’s selection marks his first career All-America honor.
The six All-American selections underscore the strength and depth of the NCHA, with multiple programs represented among the nation’s elite. With players from Adrian, Aurora, and St. Norbert earning national recognition, the conference continues to solidify its reputation as one of the premier leagues in NCAA Division III men’s hockey.
