GLOUCESTER, Mass. -- The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) has announced its 2024-25 All-Americans for NCAA Division III Men's Hockey. Aurora and St. Norbert each had four players named combined to the First and Second Teams.
Aurora's Jacob Mucitelli, Juliano Santalucia and Hassan Akl were First Team West, while Landry Schmuck was Second Team West. St. Norbert's Logan Dombrowsky was First Team West, while Hunter Garvey, Dayton Deics and Liam Fraser were Second Team West.
Mucitelli earned All-America First Team West honors for the first time in his career. He was also named All-NCHA and one of the 3 Stars of the Week early in the season. The Woodgate, N.Y., native helped the Spartans reach new heights this season. They were ranked No. 2 in the USCHO Poll and advanced to the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid. The netminder posted an 18-5-0 record and a 2.47 goals-against average this season. He had six games with 30-plus saves, including a 50-save performance at St. Norbert early in the season.
Santalucia also earned All-America First Team West honors for the first time in his career. He was named All-NCHA this season. He accumulated 32 points (10G, 22A) in 30 games, while scoring three game-winning and power-play goals. The Burnaby, British Columbia native was top-19 in assists and points during NCHA play.
Akl picked up All-America First Team West honors for the first time in his career. He is the nation's leader in assists and points per game. The junior forward exploded this season for 52 points (13G, 39A) to set the Spartans single-season record for assists and points. The Chestermere, Alberta native had 13 multi-assist games and was also named All-NCHA and was named one of the league's 3 Stars of the Week in mid-December.
Schmuck was tagged All-America Second Team West for the first time after earned NCHA Freshman of the Year. He was also named All-NCHA, All-Freshmen and four times he was named one of the conference's 3 Stars of the Week. The rookie had a knack for scoring and leads the nation in goals per game and power-play goals. The Huntsville, Ala., native set the Spartans single-season record for goals (31) and led all skaters during NCHA play. During the season he had 11 multi-goal games and didn't score a hat trick.
Aurora now has six selections to the All-America Teams in NCHA history.
Dombrowsky was named All-America First Team West for the first time in his career. The sophomore was also named the NCHA's Player of the Year, All-NCHA and three times was one of the 3 Stars of the Week. During league games, he led all skaters in points and assists, and was second in goals. The Stevens Point, Wis., native is top-10 in the nation in assists per game, points per game, power-play goals and short-handed goals. He finished the season with a team-best 51 points (17G, 34A) and led the Green Knights in assists.
Garvey picked up All-America Second Team West honors for the first time in his career. He was named All-NCHA and twice was one of the league's 3 Stars of the Week. During conference play he led all goals with a .930 save percentage. The San Diego, Calif., native posted a 19-5-0 record and a 2.04 goals-against average.
Deics received All-America Second Team West honors for the second time in his career after doing so last season. The All-NCHA honoree helped the Green Knights rank top-10 nationally in scoring defense and penalty-kill percentage. The Bismark, N.D., native had the most points among defenders for the Green Knights.
Fraser earned All-America Second Team West accolades after being named First Team West last season. The senior broke the NCAA Division III record with 10 game-winning goals and had a game-winner in five-straight games early in the season. The Calgary, Alberta native, was second on the Green Knights roster with 44 points (21G, 23A) and led the team in goals. He was also top-10 nationally in goals and points per game.
St. Norbert now has 49 selections to the All-America Teams.
