Concordia Wisconsin's Fabiilli named finalist for AHCA Women's Coach of the Year

Falcons leader guided his program to a program-record 24 victories

GLOUCESTER, Mass. — Concordia Wisconsin women’s hockey head coach Steve Fabiilli has been named a finalist for the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA NCAA Division III Women’s Coach of the Year Award, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced.

Fabiilli is one of 11 finalists for the national honor, recognizing the top coaches across NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey. The award will be announced March 26 during the NCAA Frozen Four in River Falls, Wis., and formally presented at the AHCA Convention in April.

To be considered for the award, coaches must either earn conference Coach of the Year honors or guide their program to the NCAA semifinals.

Fabiilli earned his place among the nation’s top coaches after being named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Coach of the Year, following a historic season for the Falcons.

Under his leadership, Concordia Wisconsin has developed into a consistent contender in the NCHA. Fabiilli recently guided the Falcons to a program-record 24 wins and a spot in the Slaats Cup Championship, while setting multiple team records including goals scored, points, and shutouts in a single season.

Now in his 11th season at the helm, Fabiilli has led the Falcons to double-digit win totals in 10 seasons and has guided the program to nine-consecutive NCHA Slaats Cup Playoff appearances.

The CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year awards are voted on by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and celebrate excellence in coaching, team success, and contributions to the sport.

Fabiilli’s recognition as a national finalist highlights both his impact on the Concordia Wisconsin program and the continued rise of Falcons women’s hockey on the national stage.
