INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced the field for its Division III Women's Hockey Tournament and Adrian will travel to Wilkes for a first round matchup on Saturday, March 14 at 3 pm. The game will be played the Toyota SportsPlex in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The Bulldogs won the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup Championship on Saturday via 4-3 overtime victory over rival St. Norbert. They led 3-1 in the second period and held off a late Green Knights charge. Hunter Reardon scored on a rebounded shot to give Adrian its 10th tournament title in program history.
Adrian (24-5-0) enters ranked No. 6 in the latest USCHO Women's Poll and was No. 13 in the NPI ranking.
The Colonels won the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Arcadia. It was their second-consecutive tournament title. Wilke was led by Audrey Milne who had 19 saves and was named MAC Championship MVP.
