The latest USCHO Division III Women's Poll, released on January 19, marks a memorable day for Concordia Wisconsin, who rose into the top-15. The Falcons joined the rankings following a dominant weekend series against St. Norbert, while Adrian stayed steady at No. 7.
Adrian received 167 points and maintained its position at No. 7 in the poll. The Bulldogs (13-4-0) extended their winning streak with a decisive road sweep of Lake Forest. Adrian took the opener 5-2 on Friday and followed up with a 6-0 shutout on Saturday. The Bulldogs are the lone team in the NCHA to win all their league games.
Concordia Wisconsin made history this week, receiving 38 points to debut at No. 14 in the national poll. This marks only the second time in program history that the Falcons have appeared in the USCHO Top-15, matching their previous ranking from January 31, 2011. The Falcons (14-1-1) earned their spot after taking five of six points from rival St. Norbert. After battling to a 3-3 tie on Friday in De Pere—winning the ensuing shootout—the Falcons returned home to Mequon on Saturday and delivered a statement 4-0 shutout victory.
St. Norbert saw its ranking slide further, dropping out of the Top 15. The Green Knights (10-6-1) received six points this week. Despite the 3-3 tie on Friday, the Saturday shutout loss to the Falcons hampered their ranking. St. Norbert will look to regain its footing in the coming weeks to climb back into the national conversation.
