ADRIAN, Mich. — The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its women's hockey 3 Stars of the Week for games played January 23-24.

Mackaylan McGown, F, Jr., Concordia Wisconsin
McGown anchored the Falcons' top line during a two-game sweep of Aurora, tallying 7 points (4G, 3A). The Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native recorded two goals and an assist in Friday’s 7-1 road victory. She matched that production on Saturday back in Mequon, netting two more goals to lead the Falcons to a 5-2 win. McGown’s efforts helped Concordia Wisconsin continue its program-record 16-game winning streak.

Gretchen Paaverud, GK, So., Concordia Wisconsin
Paaverud earns her second-consecutive Star of the Week honor after securing two more victories to improve her season record to 9-1-1. The Ramsey, Minn., native turned aside 34-of-37 shots faced over the weekend against a persistent Aurora attack. She made 10 saves in Friday’s road win and followed up with a 24-save performance on Saturday to seal the sweep. Paaverud finished the weekend with a .919 save percentage.

Paige Pomerleau, F, Sr., Adrian
Pomerleau was an offensive juggernaut for the Bulldogs, totaling 7 points (4G, 3A) in a weekend sweep of Dubuque. The Lewiston, Maine native opened the series on Friday with a spectacular natural hat trick in the first two periods, while adding an assist in the 6-0 shutout victory. She followed that up on Saturday with a three-point performance (1G, 2A), including the game-winning goal. Pomerleau finished the weekend with a +7 rating, helping the No. 9 Bulldogs remain perfect in NCHA play.
